1.1 Bike Repair – for beginners and some pros ¦ 3rd of April 2022
Your Rusty steed (aka bicycle) runs no more and you want to get it going yourself? But you don’t know how (that screw comes lose)? During our en-bloc course we talk about the most important basics of biycle repair. We use the four hours to talk about theory, practice ourselves and in the end we will still have time for your specific questions.
Content:
- 101 on parts and tools
- Quick Inspection: What’s broken?
- Everything regarding tubes, tires, flats and tire pressure
- Brake adjustment and maintenance (basics)
- Fixing the lights (basics)
- Your questions…?
Additionally, we will give you tips on literature and homepages, which help you repair your bicycle. There is also time to talk about what bugs your bike.

1.2 Bike Repair – a practical continuation ¦ !no dates in 2022!
Squeak! Creak! Rattle! Drag! Those sounds are given to us for free by badly adjusted gears, worn chains and old bearings. All that combined with no lights, because your bike’s lighting system gave out months ago, and the trip to the bike shop becomes inevitable. Unfortunately, that trip is not free.
Or is it? Do it yourself is also an option and how you do repairs like these yourself, will be taught to you in this course.
Content:
- How to adjust your shifters and gears
- Maintanance, how to notice wear on, and changing of chain and cassette
- How to fix your lighting system
- Maintanance and repair of bearings (drivetrain, stearing, wheels)

2. Women*’s Bike Repair Course ¦ 10 am – 6 pm ¦ !no dates in 2022!
Your bicycle is a trusty steed and reliably brings your everywhere, but you are at a loss if it “limps”? You would like to be able to fix it yourself, but sometimes you need a moment and an explanation – without worrying about sexist comments at the bike shop or the self-hep shop? Then the women*’s bike repair course is for you. In a relaxed atmosphere you have the whole day to learn which parts your bicycle is made off, which tools are used for what, and how to use them. Similarly to the introductory course, we will do the most important repairs, together. If needed, we can also take on some more tricky cases.

3. Women*’s How to Ride a Bike Course ¦ fridays between 5 and 7 pm June 2022
This offer is foremost directed toward women* from Dresden-Friedrichstadt, but it is also open for women* from all over Dresden.

And because of that, the goal of this course is to learn this wonderful way of going around. Firstly, we will deal with the most important traffic rules and useful theory regarding bicycle riding. During the following appointments, you will have the opportunity to practice riding a bicycle with our support. Of course you can do this in a safe, car free area. Finally, we will have a little bike tour through the city, with a picknick at the end.
Preliminary schedule:
- Practice driving (incl. Introduction to traffic rules)
When: 4x on fridays 5 –7 pm | 3.6. | 10.6. | 17.6. | 24.6.
